You can tell it’s playoff time around here without even checking your phone. More Thunder shirts showing up at the gas station, people actually paying attention to the TVs at restaurants again, and just a little more energy in the air than usual. Even folks who don’t watch much basketball are suddenly asking, “you see that game?”
And honestly, it’s been a minute since it’s felt like this.
The Oklahoma City Thunder being back in the NBA playoffs has people paying attention again, and not just casually. There’s something about a young team figuring it out in real time that makes it fun to watch—even if it stresses you out a little. Every game feels like it matters, every run gets people talking, and suddenly your evening plans revolve around tip-off times.
Pair that with this stretch of spring weather—cool mornings, warm afternoons, and just enough wind to keep things interesting—and it kind of feels like everything’s waking up at once. People are outside more, yards are getting cleaned up, and then by night, it’s back inside to catch the game (or at least check the score every five minutes).
It’s a pretty good mix this week—spring doing its thing, and the Thunder giving folks a reason to slow down for a couple hours and actually watch something together.

Think you know it?
Answer at the bottom… no Googling 😄
Tips
If you’re mowing this week, go ahead and check your blades… that first thick spring cut is no joke
Might be a good time to stock up on allergy meds before it gets worse (because it will)
Keep an eye on the sky late afternoon—storm season is warming up, even if nothing big yet
And seriously… secure your trash cans. The wind is undefeated
😂 Joke of the Week
Why do Oklahoma winds never get invited to parties?
Because they always blow everything out of proportion.
❓ Question of the Week
What’s one thing you always forget to do until it’s already a problem every spring?
(Be honest… It’s probably something outside.)
My Opinion
I think this might be the best couple of weeks we get all year, and we barely notice it.
It’s not too hot yet, not freezing, everything’s starting to turn green… and instead of enjoying it, we’re all just busy catching up on everything winter slowed down.
Feels like we should slow down just a little before summer shows up swinging.
